Held in Los Angeles, the trailer was well-received at the video game conference which annually showcases the biggest new games in the industry.
Robert Sethi, creative director on the action-packed teaser explained: "Our main focus was to work on exciting cinematography that could match the pace of the performances from the characters. To emphasise the readability of each scene we focussed on clear lighting and strong rim-lit silhouettes which kept the shots dramatic."
"With the character animation we went into great detail - looking at how fingers move inside a glove and how armor bounces when you run - but the key was always to get a really strong pose that read immediately because it was such a fast-paced teaser."
Tom Graham, 3D lead artist, commented: "This project was great to work on from start to finish because each artist wanted to push the realism of every shot as far as possible. And having a team so passionate and dedicated to this spot truly made each shot look great."
Sethi concluded: "It was really great working with the team at 343 Industries: they had a great vision and clear idea of what they wanted, and at the same time really let us run with project and create that for them. It's always fun to create a full CG project and there are a lot of Halo fans at The Mill, so we all were really excited to be working on it!"
