What child wouldn't want a whole football stadium full of fans to watch him kick a ball in his back garden? If you can't go to the stadium, then we'll bring the stadium to you! This is just what our visual effects team planned to do when they were told Kodak wanted to make this childhood fantasy come true by using their Inkjet Printer's photos to create a crowd filled stadium.
The 30" spot shows two young boys looking out of their window, eager to play football outside. Then they get an even better idea; print off piles and piles of stadium images, pin them up all around the garden, and then play to an audience of adoring fans.
"The talented Mill matte painting, CG and print teams came together to create the stadium image that was used by the boys, and online clean up was carried out in Flame by Pete Rypstra," explains VFX producer Ian Berry. "The finishing touches were then added by our Colourist James Bamford, to give some childlike magic to the stadium that was built in a day." This is one of many projects between us and director Kevin Thomas, and we always love helping him bring his beautifully playful visions to life.
