In the ad, directed by Jeff Labbe out of Academy, we follow the son of a famous Rodeo Star as he takes the reigns and tries to follow in his fathers footsteps of success.
His father looks on with angst and pride as the seconds tick by and it's revealed as they sit down to a well earned meal as the sunsets that his son has won the title of Rodeo champion.
Mill colourist James Bamford worked closely with director Jeff to achieve the final look and convey the hard working relationship between man and horse, and father and son. He comments, "Jeff gave me some lovely references from William Albert Allard for this grade, who shoots fantastic gritty photographs out in Western America. We tried to replicate this feeling of grit and nostalgia in the grade but adding grain to give the film texture and make it look like it had been through the printing process." he adds, "With this spot it was really about trying to encapsulate the soul, grit and honesty of what being a cowboy is all about"
