What do American heroes like General Patton, baseball legend Babe Ruth, and astronaut Buzz Aldrin have in common? Their 'greatness' has been supported by Jockey! Droga5 collaborated with Smuggler director Guy Shelmerdine and The Mill to bring 'Planets' to life for Jockey's 'Supporting Greatness' campaign.
In 'Planets,' the narrator imagines what Buzz Aldrin could have accomplished if he had worn the updated Jockey briefs of the future. He would have planted a flag on all of the planets, giving America dibs on the whole Milky Way.
The terrestrial environments and landscapes were imagined then produced by The Mill's creative team. 2D Lead Tomas Wall explains: "We started off creating a total of 12 matte-paintings in completely different visual directions, with the goal to make each planet completely unique. This was narrowed to eight select-favorites, and we found a perfect balance between making each shot beautiful but still comic. The surroundings were crafted to mirror the actions for each hilarious situation."
From landing on the moon, to punching out aliens and dodging asteroids, man's accomplishments could have surpassed the sky, space and beyond in a pair of Jockey briefs!
