The abandoned fairground and empty landscapes echo the melancholy and desolate lyrics of her new song 'Defeated'.
James Lees, the director, comments,"When choosing filming locations I've always felt that the flat unending landscapes and classic British suburban estates near where I grew up in the Midlands are very cinematic and a perfect reflection of real Britain."
An expert grade was added by Mill colourist Aubrey Woodiwiss to enhance the cinematic feel of the promo and ad a sense of true British gritty cinema. Aubrey comments, "it was shot on 35mm so it was really about retaining the qualities and information inherent within the film. i wanted it to lean towards natural whilst avoiding the bland of normality. "
