The film takes place in a funfair and follows a young boy who discovers an abandoned zoltar machine. After putting his money in, the machine refuses to work until it suddenly blares to life. Inside, we see the mechanical head is that of Ian Brown, who begins to sing the track ‘From Chaos to Harmony’
Shoot Supervisor and 2D Lead Artist Andrew ‘Barnsley’ Wood explains ‘The shoot fell into two parts – the first was the location shoot in Southend, on the seafront, in the middle of January which is where most of the footage was filmed; the close-up shots of the Zoltar-style head was filmed at a later date in a studio. One of the jobs was to get the mid-shots looking like they were shot down at Southend. We worked closely on the head malfunctioning, eyes flashing and lights dying down.
The project was great fun to be involved with, a great success all around, and we thoroughly enjoyed our collaboration with Director John Nolan and Ian Brown.’
