This spot sees an interesting variety of passengers on a train journey full of surprises – the eclectic mixture includes twins with beehives, ancient Roman reenactors as well as a flock of sheep designed by The Mill’s Kwok Fung Lam who make an appearance, adding a layer of fun surrealism to this warm and welcoming spot.
The Mill’s Executive Creative Director Wes explains ‘Andreas Nilsson was keen to add some levity and humour into the spot and incorporated the idea of cartoon sheep appearing as the man awakes from his sleep. Mill designer Kwok Fung Lam came up with a series of characters for the sheep with Mildred and Prince (the pink one) making it through the casting process. He then brought the sheep to life in Adobe Animate, where he animated them frame by frame. In addition, he animated the doodle on the newspaper, designed by Andreas.
The main spot was shot in a green screen studio in a set build of the train carriage. The exteriors were shot on the train line to Leeds using two 3-camera rigs to capture the necessary angles for the steadicam shots.
It was great to work with Andreas and Anomaly again and to bring this charming spot to life.’
