This spot seamlessly takes the viewer through time as generations grow up in the car.
2D Lead Artist Greg Spencer explains ‘From the start we knew this was going to be a very challenging spot. Doing a one shot commercial on its own is tricky, as is doing car composites.
We decided that for flexibility of shooting we would composite the entire outside world using 360 footage shot on 9 red heliums. We also set up a series of cameras around the outside of the car to capture reflection information for use in the comps, which we felt really tied them together.
One of the more challenging shots was out the car window towards the diner. Unfortunately the camera never made it to the place it was supposed to at the end of the shot, but with clever camera projections in nuke we managed to stitch it together.’
