Director Jovan Todorović comments, 'I wouldn't say I work with Mikey by choice, but rather by necessity. The necessity of the heart and of the mind that is. We have collaborated together for almost five years now becoming friends and creating an ever-evolving dialogue through which we question, explore, discuss and argue about film, photography, visual structuring and would both like to think we maintain a sustainable development as artists towards a more functional, mature and effective expression. What I pride myself most in our working and private relationship is that it surpasses all social and cultural politeness and client - artist formalities in favor of finding the best and most functional solution even if it means him kicking me out of the color suite or us challenging and provoking the other's personal insecurities for purposes of a better result. Aside from all of this, the key element is Mikey becoming one of the best and most profound color artists and filmmaking authors in the world today.
'You're Dead, America is an extremely personal piece for me and so I saw no other possibility than to work with Mikey who knows the terrain of my personal life involved in my work.'
