The world seems much better with a 'fresh' perspective in this latest 30 second spot for Comfort Blossom, 'Summer Rain'.
Mill+ Animation Director Russell Appleford, worked closely with the Mill VFX team to visualise the vivid transformation from sweltering city to the cool oasis of calm through a burst of flowery freshness, magically swirling from a Comfort Bottle. Along with additional CG and tonal balancing for a seamless mood change, the team also took on the challenge of including the distinctive character animations now familiar with the Comfort campaign.
Mill Producer Graham Pryor explains, "Our animation team took a big step forward in terms of the character animation used in this spot, with subtle nuances in facial and body movements and lots of attention given to background characters.
On the rendering front, we used Softimage and Arnold exclusively for the first time on a Comfort job, which allowed us to accurately light the shots like we would do on a set to replicate a sunny day, using bounce cards and reflectors. The shots were then composited, graded and finished in Nuke."
