Set to the song lyrics from Faith's remake of Mamma Cass Elliot's original song, 'Make Your Own Kind of Music', the spot takes viewers on a journey through Paloma Faith's life, presenting how she got to where she is today through a great deal of determination and belief.
The Mill's VFX and Design teams worked closely with Director Georgia Hudson from concept to delivery to ensure the final aesthetic was achieved to the highest quality.
Mill VFX Supervisor Ben Turner explains the range of techniques and effects from CG stadiums to simulating 3D clouds displayed in the spot, 'Naturally the creation of CG stadiums has become part of the norm in VFX work, even though each one presents its challenges.
The really beautiful thing about this job was the way Georgia engaged with us really early on to see how we could help to push the world of Faith's insecurities and doubts that face anyone who is putting themselves on the centre stage.
After some initial concept work, we settled on a world which felt slightly ambiguous as a means of visualising Faith's conscience being clouded by doubt, but not too far removed from her end goal to being on stage in front of thousands of fans.
For the initial tentative footsteps of the piece we created an Ice like floor in CG which we ran various CG lights through to try to create the feeling of mystery and magic to take us into the star's world.
We created and simulated 3D clouds which eventually disperse over the course of the film into the stage atmosphere.
We worked closely with Georgia to ensure the VFX helped to add to the crescendo of the piece but still felt in keeping with the beauty of what had been shot in camera.'
