As many of you will know, the New England Patriots battled the Philadelphia Eagles in the most anticipated sporting event of the year—Super Bowl LI! American football fans across the world huddled around their screens to see The Eagles topple the Patriots, 41-33. With 111 million eyes on the screen, this isn’t just a mammoth sporting event, but also advertising’s biggest night of the year.
This year, The Mill worked on 26 incredible spots, which aired during the game; another one of the largest collections in our Super Bowl history. The full collection across the group can currently be viewed here on our website.
Major highlights since the game include USA Today’s Admeter naming Amazon, ‘Alexa Loses Her Voice’ as their #1 ad, and Doritos Blaze and MTN DEW Ice at #4. Adweek honored three Mill spots in their Top 5 Ads of Super Bowl LII coverage—featuring Tide at #1, followed by Amazon in second and Doritos in third. AdAge also featured six Mill jobs in their annual (pre-game) Viral Videos Chart—with Doritos leading at 28M views, followed closely by Amazon with 23M views. Finally, Mill Chicago pulled off the tremendous feat of LIVE crowdsourcing imagery from social channels during the game for Kraft—receiving over 27,000 submissions ahead of the third quarter! Final numbers and stats are still flooding in, so be sure to follow @MillChannel on all platforms for further developments.
Congratulations to everybody involved for all their amazing hard work, creative input and team effort, all of which equals another incredibly successful Super Bowl year for The Mill.
