It provides a glimpse into Jaliyah's struggles when proving herself as a gifted athlete, not only at at such a young age, but in a widely popularized male sport. Metcalf's grade added a final polish to the film, whilst also providing a gritty, cross processed look, that aligns with the intensity and feel of the piece.
