The fluid spot takes viewers on a seamless journey through a woman’s holiday from the moment she steps on the plane to the hotel room, pool and restaurant as she blissfully sings and dances through each moment.
The Mill’s VFX team carefully crafted a series of CG Halloween crabs that dance along the beach in time to the track as well as carrying out extensive clean up work to ensure the ad ran smoothly from one scene into the next.
To ensure the photoreal finish on the crabs was achieved to the maximum, the team researched in detail the way the crabs look, move and behave in great detail. Halloween crabs are highly distinctive so the team worked to ensure the most realistic look was achieved whilst also enhancing some of the TUI brand colours within the animation.
To aid the shooting process, the team had a 3D print built of the hero crab so references such as how the sun affected the crab could be taken, which was invaluable in ensuring the CG crabs integrated fully into the environment. The team then had the task of timing the crabs movement precisely with the music, making sure they looked as realistic as possible.
Mill Head of Colour Seamus O’Kane completed the filmic and atmospheric grade complementing the light yet luxurious feel of the spot.
