The Mill's VFX team set out to create an epic art installation that would physically embody the way our memory works. According the Wymer, "Intimate, macro close-ups, shallow, focused tight shots of the projectors turning on, paired with the optical intrigue generated by these images reflecting off of large rear-projected screens, helps to complete the narrative."

 

With quick turnaround, the Mill's VFX team was able to create this narrative by staggering the screens as they come into frame using Z Space. The staggering then was able to highlight significant memory projections during key moments in the film. Wymer comments, "Because the screens will overlap, it allowed us to juxtapose moments together to create massive tableaus of beautiful memories. At the end of the spot the projectors turn off, and our Element will be glowing proudly in the distance."
