In the ad, viewers meet a young couple who haven’t got time to cook dinner as they are home late from work.
They begin by complaining how they have no spare time, before the female character is introduced to Pot Pasta. They both become increasingly excited, bursting into full song and dance.
It’s soon revealed that this hyperbolic performance is a parody of an opera, which introduces a surprise entrance from opera singer, Paul Potts.
The three of them unite in song about the wonders of Pot Pasta before all collapsing onto the sofa.
Mill 2D Artist John Thornton explains ‘Pot Pasta was an enjoyable project to work on. Rory McCaskill and Mat Joiner, the creatives from Lucky Generals, were really good fun and everybody worked really well together.
The main part of our job was to subtly enhance the set and the overall feel of the spot. We also created a new snapchat filter where the glass on the phone screen cracks as the characters sing opera.
It was a thoroughly entertaining spot and I hope to work with Rory and Mat again.’
Mill Colourist Oisin O’Driscoll completed the grade.
