Working alongside The Alfa Studio, and Director Richard Bullock from Hungryman, The Mill helped to create Omega’s latest ad, celebrating the 60th year anniversary of the ‘Speedmaster’ watch.
Omega’s ‘Speedmaster’ watch was worn on the first american moon walk, as part of the Apollo 11 mission. In this heartwarming and nostalgic spot the viewer watches George Clooney interview his childhood hero Buzz Aldrin about the notorious mission whilst they watch the old footage of the Apollo’s take off.
Mill Head of Colour, Seamus O’kane explains ‘The opportunity to grade this piece was amazing. We decided to give the images a gravitas that echoed the depth of the personality and character embodied in both the reputation and reality of the individuals.
The palette was simple so that the elegance of wardrobe and location could sit back against the skin tones without either feeling forced or pushed.
We allowed the archive footage to speak for itself and nudged it occasionally into a deeper sense of its period. The result is a deep and satisfying grade that lets the viewer bask in the event without intrusion.
Buzz Aldrin, George Clooney and a beautiful icon watch. It really doesn't get much better’
