Confetti-filled balloons and a table of cacti plants are the focus of a school group’s wonder in this exciting and kinesthetic ad.
Using the premium camera features of the new Sony Xperia XZ, the children are able to capture the magical and pinnacle moment of the balloons making contact with the needles of the plants.
The camera’s quality is highlighted as the frame is exhibited in slow motion, showing the high-definition of the bursting balloons and the sheer vibrancy of the paper confetti.
Mill 2D Lead Artist Carl Norton explains; 'We had a great time working on this project with Director Charlie Phillips and the rest of the guys at Mind'sEye.
The beauty of the explosions were enhanced with the clever use of speed ramps, before further defining the pinnacle moments through a fantastic finishing grade from The Mill’s Head of Colour Seamus O’Kane.
Seamus allowed the colours to really pop, only adding to the acknowledgment of the XZ’s new high-quality camera function.
It was a fantastic piece to work on, where we felt we really brought to life some visually arresting work that keeps viewers entranced.’
Mill Head of Colour Seamus O’Kane further explains; ‘This project encapsulated a real spirit of fun, and allowed the mayhem of the wild experiments to shine vividly within an environment of scientific austerity.
Director Charlie Phillips wanted the splendour of the colour to erupt across the sedate backgrounds with an enthusiasm that becomes both compelling and addictive and so it was my duty to ensure this was communicated fully in the grade.
Using the high-speed raw files, we then undertook a highly-enjoyable development of the grade, building the colour layers throughout to create a wonderfully riveting finished product, and something that you really want to see again and again.'
