The Mill partnered with Wieden+Kennedy (Portland) and Director Brian Beletic of Smuggler to create the compelling ‘Music Gives Hearts Beats’ for Samsung. The piece follows Vibe Music Editor Mikey Fresh as he journeys from nightclubs to downtown, capturing every angle of an artist’s life through the lens of his Galaxy S8.
Both The Mill’s 3D and 2D teams implemented heavy effects work in order to push the viewer through the screen of the mobile device, transporting them from one musical setting to another. Extensive 3D tracking was done to allow accurate tracking geometry that wrapped around the edges of the curved screen. This allowed the VFX team to pre-comp the interface of the Galaxy S8 onto each phone.
