The spot is an abstract visual depiction of a relationship in turmoil offering viewers a dark, emotional narrative. Shot as just one scene, the promo follows the lovers as they become further entangled with one another, the female being bound up with black ribbon until she is completely restricted of her freedom to move and talk.
The ending image of the woman's body mummified in the black ribbon is thought-provoking and harks back to the underlying message being communicated, which is that of a damaging and suffocating relationship.
Mill Colourist Mick Vincent comments; 'The track has such a lasting effect and so it was really important to me to reflect that impact in the grade and to communicate the right atmosphere. I wanted it to be dark and emotive, telling of the emotions the artist was singing about, and to keep the viewer watching. This was a really enjoyable grade to complete, with a strong narrative to uphold.’
