The Mill partnered with Director Christian Bevilacqua, Anonymous Content and DDB Chicago for "Brooke's Yard", the latest spot from lawn care product Scotts.
Our protagonist Brooke has an almost picture perfect backyard with kids and a cute dog running around. But, the lawn is plagued with ugly bare spots. That’s where Scotts’ all-in-one lawn fertilizer promises to save the day. Upon reading the brief, the team asked itself "What lurks beneath the ground of our backyards?". This led them to explore a subterranean macro world as the perfect setting to showcase the power of Scotts.
2D Artist and Shoot Supervisor Udesh Chetty tells of the shoot "A number of practical models, including dirt, stones and seeds, were shot at a high frame rate on phantom cameras and we utilized snorkel lenses to create an altered sense of scale. This gave us a great foundation for bringing the macro worlds to life. Throughout the spot, some 3D elements were also added to enhance the canyon environment."
