Each short is a spoof of cliché movie scenes, and all begin with an underlying epic-feel which suddenly comes to a comically-timed halt.
With building music and dark lighting from the outset, each piece creates the feeling of tension and heroism, until the the hero realises he is short of power, sending the scene rapidly back to reality.
The true hero, viewers quickly realise, is EON energy which rescues the wannabe superhero as he martyrs through everyday tasks around his home.
The cinematic grade, led by Mill Colourist David “Luddy” Ludlam, cleverly adds to the overall theatrical undertone that is present throughout the spots, making main character’s actions even more amusing.
Mill 2D Artist Joseph Tang talks about working on the project; 'To compliment the stylistic shooting and grade for each ident, we added extra elements in flame to further enhance these stylistic film pastiches. For example, adding slow-motion rain to help create the bullet time effect was one of the particular elements, and removing rig and comping in screens in the multi-screen shot too.’
