Set in the infamous Abbey Road Studios, we see Kate miming along to the rock God’s timeless track as she gives a playful yet sincere performance. Infused with an air of glamour, the piece is subtly sexy throughout, with Kate lounging across both piano and chaise lounge over different shots, serenading the words of Presley.
The monochrome piece beautifully exhibits a creative-collaboration from across the ages, with the nostalgic sounds of Elvis and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the visually gorgeous imagery of superstar Kate, there is an appropriate underlying festive feel.
Mill Colourist David Ludlam tell us more about working on the project:
"We shot at the incredible Abbey Road Studios, which was an amazing and really exciting place to do so because of its sheer legendary status. Anyone who is anyone has recorded there and that was exactly the sort of iconic vibe we wanted to create in this promo, and so it made no sense to film anywhere else but there.
We shot the entire piece with the new ALEXA black and white sensor camera, an incredible piece of equipment with great dynamic. It helped us to create the most fantastic shots, garnering the exact results we wanted, monochromatic and clean, which was so important to the overall feel of this project.
We wanted to capture the essence of the very beautiful, classic and grand 60’s, with a nod to the glamorous throughout. We took a lot of care with the picture, making sure it was as clean as possible and softened it to really heighten that 60’s- glam vibe , ensuring the nostalgic feel remained as strong in the visuals as it was in the sound.
It was a truly fantastic project to be a part of, and while the quick turn-around made it that bit more challenging, the result is something spectacular and one for all to really enjoy.”
