The film depicts the story of Jordan, a young victim of homelessness and is shot across a variety of locations where he grew up. Like many of the stories of those who find themselves on the streets, Jordan’s experiences show how easily young people can quickly end up displaced and in crisis.
Director Prakash takes a conceptual approach so as to create an overwhelmingly powerful message through framed shots of the brutalist architecture that makes up the estate where Jordan was born. Part of the spot features a monochromatic grade before changing into colour as Jordan finds the hostel supported by Depaul, reflecting the sense of hope this charity offers for young people in desperate situations.
Depaul is The Mill’s chosen partner charity for the 2016 Mill Collection. Money usually spent on decorations will be donated to the charity and The Mill’s London studio will be collecting donations for the entirety of December.
