Mill+ are thrilled to have continued their proud collaboration with Burberry, producing stunning visual content for their latest Shanghai event.
The launch event, held on April 24th, celebrated the iconic British brand's connection between London and China, with an evening of live theatrical performance, music and fashion to entertain 1500 VIPs from China's fashion industry.
The main focus of the Mill+ team's work was to create animations based on the latest Burberry collection, projected during the entire 12-minute Womenswear finale. Designed to work harmoniously as the models walk across stage, the animations spilled onto the huge 40 x 8 metre London street façade, showcasing the collection's beautiful floral designs. The team also shot and produced content for the Heritage, Menswear and Beauty sections of the show.
Mill+ director Russell Tickner and producer Colin Oaten worked closely with the Burberry creative and event teams to create the whole sequence, from pre-vis, style frame design and animation through to the final compositing stages.
Colin comments, "It was an incredibly complex project from a production, technical and creative point of view. We needed a large team of designers, animators and compositors to bring this to fruition, but we are all extremely proud of the results and our continued partnership with Burberry. Russell and I were very fortunate to be able to attend the event itself and to have provided technical assistance in the run-up to the show. Our work was very well received and continues to build on our solid relationship with such an iconic UK brand."
Director Russell Tickner adds, "It was a great experience for myself and our animation team working with Burberry again, this time contributing on an ambitious event like their 'London in Shanghai' show, working collaboratively from the initial stages to the actual night itself.
Before we could create any animation it was essential we studied the Womenswear Autumn/Winter Collection, not only to find out its many artistic styles and references, but also to show how these where created and combined to form a body of work - then as the project evolved we were also able to contribute to several different parts of the event. I was very lucky and privileged to see the show, the venue and Shanghai on the night."
