The spot depicts a make–believe early Nineties office space as an exotic holiday destination, parodying the Judith Chalmers-esque retro style travel programs which explored the ‘hottest' travel destinations of the moment during the Eighties and Nineties. The juxtaposition of the satirical voiceover description and the dull work space imagery, such as the ‘vibrant culture’ of a drab office cubicle although funny, sheds light on a sad truth – that one in three people spend their allocated holiday time in the office.
The Mill’s 2D Team, led by Creative Director on the job, Dan Williams, helped to create the allusion of a retro and grainy quality to the film which was enhanced in the grade by Mill Colourist, Seamus O’Kane.
