The new 60-second ad encourages fans to 'Get in the Game' this summer, whatever your sport. From football to cycling, gymnastics to surfing there is a holiday and more specifically a room suitable for the occasion.
The spot opens with a young woman daydreaming while watching a surfing video on her phone, when the voiceover interrupts with “you can either keep dreaming or get booking.” She then proceeds to search ‘surfing’ and in the following scene we see her grabbing a surfboard and heading for the beach. Ambassador Thierry Henry also makes a cameo in the ad when a fan finds himself in an elevator with the star. The message is that “It all starts with the right room,” whether it’s a hotel right on the beach, a room next to a stadium or a cottage on the cyclist’s path.
2D Artist Brad Wood comments; "We filmed some crowd plates from our London office for a few of the street shots to give the scene a more bustling, post match feel. For the final shot, we enhanced the stadium with a new extension and composited in a real crowd that we had filmed at a football match. We re-coloured the crowd shirts and replaced the foreground fans to fill the scene, overall making the atmosphere more epic with the inclusion of flags, confetti and fireworks.”
Head of Colour Seamus O’Kane says; "Allowing us to have instant control over our online reservations gives us a certain power and Director Martin Krejic captures that in this exuberant and colourful spot. We travel with the characters as their unfettered access to their favourite sports and hobbies allows them opportunities to mix and mingle with their heroes. As we move through these scenes, Martin wanted to bring diversity and impact to the grade but yet still root the image in a carefully balanced photographic reality. He used various capture media, from digital to Bolex, in order to widen the textural palette and increase diversity. We designed the colour to heighten this sense of time and place and yet knit a taunt and compelling visual."
