This feel good 60 second ad features a young man, happy to see the weekend, as he leaves the office with a jump in his step and rollerskates on. The protagonist’s joyful mood is infectious, bringing smiles to people’s faces on his journey home.
2D Artist Joseph Tang says; "Once the edit was complete we performed a variety of tasks to help enhance the fun and quirky narrative that runs throughout the spot. This included removing wire rigs to help give a slight appearance of weightlessness at various points and compositing animating artwork on a mural to help skew the world into the realms of fantasy.
As the spot progresses, the main character is joined by other skaters in what appears to be a procession towards home. This reaches a crescendo when all the skaters are seen dancing in sync with one another from an aerial position above a park. This required compositing various takes, a matte painting and other smoke and landscaping elements to achieve what is a suitably fun climax”.
Head of Colour Seamus O’Kane comments; "With a nod to some iconic choreographic movies Sara filled every shot with joyous motion and we styled the look to echo both the classic Technicolour feel and the invigorating light of a glorious Friday evening.
It's five o'clock and work is done, the sun is shining and the weekend stretches ahead. The late afternoon light adds a softness and warmth that compliments the mood and the saturated pastel feel gives a nice emulsive edge to the images that we slightly enhanced with the addition of a gentle film grain. This is such an uplifting piece that really was a joy to work on."
