Wes, The Mill London's 2D lead comments, "The shoot took place over 8 days at Elstree studios. Two stages were needed because of the scale of the set builds (hamster wheels, tennis court, rugby pitch, theatre stage, dodgems run through, studio hub). There were rain effects, huge lighting rigs, 200 extras, and a host of football, rugby, and tennis stars (all choreographed by Andy Ansah and his team).
Post wise, there was a lot of work done up front pre-vizing camera moves for the different scenes alongside Martin, the motion control guys and art department. A number of scenes were shot in plates and so players were comped together back at The Mill, such as the rugby line-out. We also worked on elements that were shot for the tennis sequence when the dust rises from the floor. Likewise for the Joe Hart ball explosion.
For the Dodgems shot, players had to have crash mats to land on so that they didn't injure themselves on the studio floor. These then needed to be removed in post and their reflections and shadows rebuilt."
Mill colourist Seamus O'Kane then worked his magic on the finished piece.
