Collaborating with Saatchi & Saatchi and Director Jeff Labbé out of Academy Films, The Mill created this spot, one of a series, for HSBC’s latest campaign.
The ad tells the life story of ‘Audrey’, taking the viewer on a journey through the character’s development from childhood into adulthood. The scenes show how her ambitions and hopes have changed over time, developing from dreams of becoming a princess to, in later life, actually becoming an engineer in the Middle East. The ad ends with her and her family finding their ‘castle’ alongside the strapline, ‘It’s life that writes the best stories’. Lloyds’ key message it that they will be there to support their clients, financially, through all of life’s developments.
Mill Colourist Mick Vincent explains, 'It is always a pleasure to work with Jeff and on this job we were able to work closely together in the studio to experiment and create the right tone and feel for the spots. It was important to portray the sense of a passage of time through each scene to allow the viewer to connect to the story of the character's presented.'
