In collaboration with Alfa Romeo USA and DDB, The Mill created stunning visuals to help showcase the Giulia Quadrifoglio.
The sports sedan was unveiled at the 2015 LA Auto Show and you can check out their YouTube page here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VyM9ok6Z3PY
CG and graphic elements were blended with the Giulia footage to support the powerful voice over in a masterfully designed, fast paced edit. 2D Lead Artist Udesh Chetty said, "The brief was to substitute placeholder stock shots from the edit, reinterpreting the respective shots visually, while retaining the inherent feel and rhythm. From a VFX standpoint it was a very fun job to work on. The CG shots were visually unrelated allowing the artist/s working on their shot to have artistic license and create something unique. The individual shots would ultimately come together in compositing and grade to produce a cohesive patchwork of arresting visual elements."
Nic Yiallouris, 3D Artist said, "The idea going into the job was to create something that was based on the physical but evoked an emotional response. The VFX elements gave us the control to visualize key moments, and artistically direct the look and performance of the physical phenomena's. We used a combination of Houdini's pyro solver and Maya with our internal shaders to achieve the finish this heart racing spot required."
