With the title ‘One Life / Live Them’, the campaign revolves around the idea that people have multiple talents and that they should celebrate this fact. Renner makes an ideal ambassador for such a campaign, having achieved great success in multiple fields: as an actor and producer, a renovator and as a musician.
The spot opens on Jeremy performing in an action sequence, before moving to a scene where his position is one on the sidelines rather than the spotlight: working as a producer, not an actor. Next we see him looking over plans for a building, which he is in the process of refurbishing, before he moves on to perform at a packed concert. The spot finishes with Renner saying he doesn’t want to be known “for one thing I do, but everything I do… after all you only get one life, so live them.”
Chief Executive of Rémy Martin Eric Vallat says, “Jeremy’s multifarious abilities make him the ideal representative for the brand’s One Life / Live Them campaign. This is a new chapter in the history of Rémy Martin, and we’re delighted to be working with someone who so completely embodies the lifestyle that we are celebrating”
The Mill also worked on a second version of the advert which features Chinese superstar Huang Xiaoming, which focuses on his equally varied career as an actor, model, musician and ambassador and is aimed at engaging audiences in China and the East.
2D Lead Artist Dan Adams describes his experience on the project, “It was great collaborating with everyone on Rémy. The idea in both spots was to seamlessly transition from scene to scene to show the different aspects of our lead characters’ lives. The transitions were cleverly devised by Ne-o, with our team giving a helping hand and advice wherever possible. In the Renner spot we composited in the background cityscape for the dramatic opening chase sequence. This was done using a series of panoramic stills, which we then projected on to geometry and tracked into our studio footage. We additionally added atmospheric detailing in the forest scene for the Chinese spot.”
