It opens on a bartender preparing for the night ahead – pulling dustsheets off a collection of glamorous mannequin-like clientele whom he rearranges before getting the party started by clicking a switch. Clothed in luxurious silks, dripping in jewellery and carrying exotic pets there’s only one drink that the partygoers will be sipping: a Tanqueray Gin cocktail.
The Mill was briefed to match the look of Tanqueray’s pre-existing print campaign, which presented an exciting challenge for the team when translating into a spot that has 25 moving images per second!
Lead 2D Artist Carl Norton explains, “The 2D team worked hard to track stills so as to remove all the subtleties of movement in the talent, whilst bringing about a sense of transition to life as the party begins. Colourist, Mick Vincent then crafted a very delicate and technical grade throughout the spot to isolate the talent from the environment. He also had to use mattes to layer up the individual dresses – a hugely technical grade which he pulled off brilliantly.”
