The project is comprised of six separate vignettes, each featuring illustrations from one of the artists: Blair Breitenstein, Carly Kuhn, Judith van den Hoek, Megan Hess, Vida Vega and Wong Ping. While each artist interprets the Prada Raw Avenue line from a unique point of view, all six vignettes are based on a walk cycle template where the animation loops to portray models performing a runway-style strut. The artists drew each frame and sent them to Mill+ where many of the insert shots were animated.
Mill+ Art Director Lisha Tan explains, “We worked with Creative Directors Francesco Maria Tiribelli and Joakim Dahlqvist from April to brief all of the illustrators. We started by giving them a walk cycle template, and from there it grew into a bigger project – an interesting storytelling experience. We then brought the artists’ illustrated models to life by animating the majority of them.”
To complete the animated walk cycles, Tiribelli and Dahlqvist collaborated with Musikvergnuegen to add a compelling audio track composed by John Luker and Walter Werwoza, furthering the impact of the animations.
The montage film shown here contains clips from each of the vignettes, including a special glimpse behind the work. All of the vignettes can be viewed in full
