There’s no doubting the powerful presence of the 2010 Mercedes E-class Coup as it bursts through a large plate-glass wall to take its rightful place among the great classic cars on display in the fabulous Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart.
Directing duo Dom & Nic (Nick Goffey and Dominic Hawley) get a real buzz from working with creative people on challenging and original ideas.

The Mill were glad to work with them on this 30-second spot for the US market. Clearly, they all lit up at the dramatic potential in shattering the reverential atmosphere inside the museum.
Calm interior moments are interspersed with flashes of the Mercedes approaching the museum through a forested landscape. But it couldn't actually be driven through the glass wall of the Mercedes-Benz Museum. As Alex Lovejoy, lead Flame at The Mill, explains, "The smashing sequence was filmed at Shepperton Studios near London. Digital stills of the museum interior were then composited into the studio backgrounds and separate plates of people and shattering glass were added. Finally, a digital matte painting was made to create the exterior museum scene, projected onto a CG model and tracked into the scene."
