The comical spot charts Elle and Gary's rocky relationship in the style of a music promo, set to a re-recorded version of Phil Collins 80's hit, 'Groovy Kind of Love.' The farcical scenes see a lone Gary located on the beach, singing shirtless to the camera and even playing the piano in a room full of candles in crinkly crisp formation.
Directed by Paul Weiland, who has created in excess of 500 television commercials, '3 - Football' and 'Nationwide - Home Sweet Home' and broadcast credits that include 'Mr Bean' and 'Blackadder: Back and Forth', Paul used his comical expertise to set the tone in this cheeky spot.
VFX Producer Paul Schleicher said, "Drawing on visual conventions of love ballads and boy band music videos, The Mill worked alongside AMV to comp various shot elements and cleanup the numerous shots that compile an extended 2 minute version for broadcast." The Mill's Colourist Adam Scott created a dreamy grade that was perfect for the fictional genre set by the director and the Flame was led by Gary Driver, supported by Ilia Mokhtareizadeh.
