The spot broke in a coveted slot during The X Factor on ITV1 last Saturday. Featuring two of Britain's favourite chefs, the ad sees Delia preparing her original Christmas cake using Delia's Classic Christmas Cake Prepared Ingredients Box, and then the camera pans across the hall to Blumenthal, who is showing off his mince pies covered with pine scented sugar. We are then treated to the two supermarket ambassadors creating a number of their other Christmas treats using Waitrose ingredients. Viewers are also invited to interact with an augmented reality experience where, using a blippar app, users can get access to further Delia and Heston content.
As well as the atmospheric seasonal and magical grade from Colourist Seamus O'Kane, The Mill's 2D team of artists gave the spot its magical touches, ensuring that all of the elements and effects were seamlessly integrated.
