We could hardly imagine a Sunday morning without a stack of newspapers on our breakfast table, so we were thrilled to join a fabulous team consisting of the BAFTA-winning director, David C. Kerr and the creative minds at Wieden + Kennedy to promote the re-launched version of Sunday stalwart, The Observer. With an endless list of directorial credits including That Mitchell and Webb Look and Beautiful People, David's special knack for wit gives the spot just the right tone and comic sense of timing to point out the pitfalls of filling airtime with a constant stream of TV news.
Tracey Khan, who produced the 'Gobble-di-news' spot said: "For the 30 we were asked to comp approx 30 green screen shots into various backgrounds, embedding each shot to look as if shot on location, even adding on effects such as snow and rain. We also did the online 60" version, with 70 cuts in a day and half. It was a very fast turnaround for a very fast and funny spot."
