Barnsley helped make Vince's vision a reality, "We decided the most effective way to shoot each scene was using empty grey boards, complete with tracking markers. This meant we'd be able to add whatever images we needed later and build up the desired composition. The shoot was done on location in Auckland, New Zealand (famed for its 'four seasons in one day') so I shot dozens of still photographs at each location in different weather and lighting conditions, which meant that Vince had several different options open to him until we reached the edit suite."
"Then came the tricky bit - hand tracking a pre-determined image onto to each board. We did this by using natural shadow, reflection and sheen from the grey boards, to bed the images onto the boards. Some scenes had up to 80 or more individual boards, all requiring tracking, matting, and finessing."
