Facebook's latest commercial for Facebook Home 'Launch Day', shows CEO Mark Zuckerberg addressing his team while one of his staff plays around with the exciting technology in Facebook Home. It shows the team being completely distracted by the software and engaged in the new technology.
The Mill team was thrilled to work alongside the creative team from Wieden+Kennedy for this spot, and our producers got to head up to Facebook's corporate headquarters in Menlo Park, CA, to meet with Mr. Zuckerberg himself.
"The main body of work was actually pretty traditional in the compositing sense, primarily to combine plates that were imposible to achieve on camera," says Mill creative director Phil Crowe. "For example, the tractors were shot separetely on stage and added in afterwards and accurate grids and measurements that were taken to achieve this so that this effect could be executed. The most interesting shoot challenge was the swimming pool section where we mapped out Facebook's office in the pool, and and physically sank the desks in relation to where they exist in the real world. Using elements from the actual office, we comped into the swimming pool plate, including Mark who was shot on the previous day."
