Move over sun, there's a new source of light in town: A type of light bulb to rival the sun in Philips' 'Dear Sun,' created by Ogilvy, Cut+Run and The Mill. Director Gustav Johansson proves this isn't your typical light bulb.
Shot on 35 mm film, innovation and new technology for Philips is classic at it's core. Scenes of nature featuring galloping horses and backpackers are silhouetted against a gorgeous sunset.
The filmic and lush look was created by Mill colorist Mikey Rossiter: "'Dear Sun' had a unique charm to it, a nostalgic cinematic quality even down to the imagery. I worked with the color tones in the film negative, enhancing the existing beauty for the final spot."
The warm natural light is mirrored indoors by the Philips LED bulb, which brings 20 years of life and can glow in infinite colors at the touch of a button. Suddenly, the sun looks a bit outdated!
