When direcetor David Masters and Michael Richards from Jack Morton first pitched the idea to us, it was undoubtedly and ambitious project. Asking us to transform a human in to a phone whilst turning into a mixture of around 40 objects along the way always going to be incredibly challenging but with Fabrice Le Nezet, Francois Roisin and Jules Janaud, our award winning CG Artists on board creating the animation, it was going to be a great journey.

So Fabrice, Francois and Jules set about working closely with the JMW team to create the intense, vivid imagery as our protagonist begins to change in to various animated objects before morphing into the Nokia N900 mobile computer. The 2D effects and further compositing were then created in Nuke, and after just three weeks the animation was completed and approved. Final touches were added by Seamus O'Kane, one of our senior colourists.
"We were very lucky to be working with such a great agency, an extremely talented director and crew, which meant we got the best of the project and the shoot," Luke Colson, Head of Mill Studio and Exec VFX Producer on the project said, adding: "The actors made the scene totally believable and the forward planning meant we had several moments of great interaction between reality and the 3D animation. Nokia Focus Group has been a fantastic project to work from concept through to execution."
Michael Richards, Senior Producer at JMW said : "Viral marketing is constantly evolving and keeping ahead of the curve creatively often means making something 'a little different'. For this one we wanted to really push the boundaries and that takes some great writing, directing, acting and some talented VFX artists not to mention a lot of trust from the client."
