The countdown is on to our big Mill move next week! On Tuesday 26th August we will be opening the doors to our new London studio on Windmill Street.

Each month we have invited a range of artists to come in and create installations for our Great Marlborough Street window space, with highlights including It’s Nice That, Yasemen Hussein, Wayne Chisnall, Scarlet Winter, Rebecca Louise Law and Charles Bigeast to name but a few.

This month, to communicate our hotly anticipated #WindmillMove and end the long run of monthly window creations, Mill+ designer Alex Thursby-Pelham was responsible for designing our last ever Great Marlborough Street vinyl installation.

The concept re-appropriates the idea of health and safety moving stickers, whilst also incorporating The Mill brand colour and subtle, comical industry references such as D&AD pencils and broken egos.

Alex comments, “Coming from a graphic design background, I really enjoy working purely with typography and minimal illustration. What we created was a stylized family of badges playing on the concept of the stickers you might find on a moving box. The 'Man Up' badge has proved popular, but personally the 'Fragile Egos' badge would have to be my favourite, as I think it most successfully brings together the message of moving and the nature of our industry with an element of humour thrown in.”
